What are win-trading bots in ranked play?

Short answer: Win trading uses networks of bot-controlled accounts that queue at the same time as a paying customer's account, deliberately losing to feed them wins. The bots watch queue timing and dodge any match where they land on the wrong team, so the customer's win rate climbs while looking statistically normal. It is one of the main ways high ranks are sold as a service.

How the coordination works

Operators run dozens of accounts in the same rating band and region. They queue simultaneously, compare lobby compositions, and accept only the matches where a bot lands opposite the customer. Modern matchmaking that shows partial team info before accept makes this easier, not harder.

Why reports alone do not fix it

Player reports catch the obvious cases, but a bot that plays a full match at deliberately mediocre performance looks like a weak human. Detection needs population-level patterns: repeated lobby overlap between accounts, synchronized queue timing, and account clusters that only ever lose to one side.

What platforms can measure

Queue-time correlation matrices, lobby overlap rates between account pairs, and dodge-rate asymmetry are the three signals that separate win-trading rings from ordinary groups of friends.
